A Lucky Girl's Life: "Fall" Into Feng Shui
Fall is a great time to learn this ancient Chinese technique because with cold weather approaching and being indoors much more than usual. It's important to understand that your environment has a direct influence on every aspect of your life. It's very common that if your home is a wreck your personal life is often the same way.
The very first thing you can do is simply declutter your home. No question about it, junk will weigh you down and make you feel less motivated. Get rid of things that no longer serve a purpose and give them a new home by donating to charity, for instance. When you get rid of unwanted things you open yourself up to new opportunities that need to come your way. This is an example: Your book shelf is over loaded with books. You could not possibly buy any more books because you have no room for them, right? You see this incredible book you really want and you don't buy it because of your rat pack collection of books--many that you probably haven't read. Often you are drawn to a book because there's something you can learn from it--it provides a new perspective on something your curious about, or perhaps its function is simply to just help you relax.
Whichever function it serves to you personally, it is beneficial in a positive way. So my recommendation is buy that book but clear the shelves first. Always leave room for more knowledge to come your way. This is how I got into Feng Shui in the first place, I bought a book. One thing always leads to another!
My second simple solution is to just clean your home. Feng Shui is about creating positive energy around you. A dirty home feels negative to you and all who enter. Not only that, but dust and even having pets is an allergy haven for many. You will feel so much better by simply cleaning your space!
In a nutshell, the more you simplify your home the more simple your life becomes. You feel more energetic, organized, and find you are more optimistic about getting things done. And with all your new-found positive energy, more good things will be drawn to you. There is so much more to Feng Shui, but this is a good start!
