Photos of the Off Season in OC
Posted by Shorebread | Friday, September 14, 2012

It’s that time of year again folks. All around you, things that were once bright and bustling appear dark and surprisingly desolate. That time of year when the sun hangs low in the afternoon sky and the world around you starts to take on a slightly grayish hue. To some, this is known as autumn, referred to as fall by some -- around here, it’s known as the end of the season.
The end of the season is an abrupt halt to the high-energy, nonstop activity all over town, and when I say abrupt, I mean abrupt. In a matter of one week, you can visibly see a drastic decrease in the amount of people wandering the boards, be it day or night. Some readers might see this in a negative light, which is understandable; Ocean City thrives on tourism, and nobody wants to lie on the beach if it’s 34 degrees outside.
I, on the other hand, would beg to differ, and decided to try my hand at bringing the beauty I see all around me to you.
Often times, we get so caught up in the day-to-day activities of life that we tend forget how lucky we all are to be living here. I know this happens to me frequently. Every now and again I take a deep breath, look around, and remember.
This Sunday morning was one of those times. Something told me it was going to be a beautiful sunrise, so I decided to forgo any semblance of sleep and went on a journey to capture a different side of Ocean City.
There will be plenty more of photographs like these in the coming months, but in the meantime, I’d love to hear about places you find amazing in the off season. Feel free let me know by using the comment boxes below, and they just might show up in a future article.
