Happy Friday the 13th! Surprisingly, things don't feel eerie at all today; blue skies, birds chirping, tulips blooming. Speaking of tulips, did you know that it's time for the Lewes Tulip Festival? Flowers galore. Socially Speaking, there are plenty of fun, spring time events happening on the coast this weekend. Here are a few ShoreBread suggestions:

2nd Friday Art Stroll

Head to Berlin to take part in the town’s 2nd Friday Art stroll on Friday the 13th. Many businesses are gearing up for spring and offering seasonal sales, dishes, and drinks starting on Friday. The Berlin Coffee house will be showcasing the photography of, ShoreBread’s very own, Natalee DeHart. DeHart began taking photos as a hobby. Her collection has grown immensely. She has selected an array of images to share with the public during the art stroll. The coffee shop will be open until 8 pm that evening.

Lewes Tulip Festival

Friday, April 13th, marks the beginning of the Lewes Tulip Festival. This 3rd annual event celebrating blossoming bulbs all weekend long. The event is presented by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, Lewes in Bloom, the Lewes Historical Society, Lewes Parks & Recreation Commission, and the Historic Lewes Farmer’s Market. Events will be held at several sites throughout town, most held at Zwaanendael Park, directly behind the museum of the same name. Trolley rides, photography exhibits and contests, workshops, and historic restoration tours will occur over the weekend. For more information, check out the Lewes Chamber of Commerce website.

Walk MS Maryland 5K

More than 6,700 people in Maryland are living with Multiple Sclerosis. On Saturday, April 14th, a 5k walk will occur on the Ocean City boardwalk to raise funds for programs and services for those suffering from MS. Registration for the 3.2 mile walk begins at 9 am and the walk begins at 10 am. To register, meet at the Grand Hotel (21st and the Boardwalk) on the morning of. Ocean City Bridal Show

Local wedding vendors will be participating in the Ocean City Bridal Show held on April 15th at Seacrets. This fun even allows couples to meet top vendors, listen to music, catch live entertainment, and watch a bridal fashion show. The event takes place in Seacrets’ Morley Hall. Select vendors will be giving away free wedding services and gifts. A Caribbean Cruise for two will be given away by local wedding officiant, Sean Rox. Admission is $10 at the door or $7.50 if purchased online. The event runs from 1 – 4pm on Sunday. For more information, visit the Ocean City Bridal Show website.

Salisbury Roller Girls vs. Brandywine

Come out and watch the Salisbury Roller Girls All-Stars take on the Brandywine Rollergirls at the All-Stars 2012 season debut. 2012 marks the team’s second full-bouting season as a league. The bout takes place at Mitchell’s Martial Arts on Sunday, April 15th at 6:30 pm; the whistle blowing occurs at 7 pm. There will be a halftime demonstration by the indomitable Mitchell's Martial Arts. Concessions, including pizza and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $8 on the Brown Paper Tickets website.
